Williams Wins First ASCS Main at USA!
Lonnie Wheatley, TUCSON, Ariz. (July 17, 2010) – Joshua Williams snared his first career American Sprint Car Series feature win by racing to victory lane in Saturday night’s 25-lap ASCS Southwest main event at USA Raceway.
The 21-year-old raced to the checkered flag aboard the Borello-powered Diamond Mechanical No. 41 Ellis in front of J.T. Imperial, with Steve Stone, current series point’s leader Rick Ziehl and Kyle Sager rounding out the top five.
Joshua Hodges was sixth, with Calvin Landis, John Gaston, Lance Norick and Koty McGullam completing the top ten.
Hodges and Perry McMillan won Saturday night’s heat races.
New Mexico’s Mercedes Harris picked up her second consecutive X-Modified feature event after taking the lead from her fourth starting spot and crossing the stripe ahead of 2009 USA Factory Stock Champion Dusty Gauthier. Harris picked up the 20-Lap main event with Gauthier crossing the line a close 2nd and Mike Masters rounding out the top three.
Dallas Caldwell, BJ Arntz and Ben Richey picked up wins in little car action. Caldwell was victorious in Southwest Modlite action while Arntz took home the trophy for the Arizona Modified Midgets. Ben Richey took honors in Dwarf Car action.

UniFirst Super Stocks, Factory Stocks and the mighty Hornets fill the card for a full night of racing action. General admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 6:45pm.
