Scott Storms to Memorial Day Victory
Kevin Montgomery Tucson, Arizona (May 30th, 2010) – Las Cruces’ Stormy Scott became the fourth different winner in six races as he topped Sunday nights 25-Lap Barnett Harley Davidson UMP West Modified feature and wrapped up the two day Memorial weekend shootout.
Scott, who has remained winless in five starts at USA, led from the pole position and held off constant pressure from point leader RC Whitwell as the two raced to the checkered flag just in front of 3rd place finisher “The Outlaw” Jimmy Ray. Scott was flawless as he wired the field in his All Star Performance ride and took home a $1000 payday for his efforts.
Dana Boatwright celebrated Memorial Day by sweeping the weekend as he captured Sunday’s 20-Lap Unifirst Super Stock feature. Boatwright, who also took honors on Saturday, crossed the stripe just ahead of new point leader Dwayne Hogan with John Buerger taking the show position.
“Captain” Jody Henderson scored his first SCRA Factory Stock victory of the year making his way from a 7th place starting spot inching out Joey McCullough and third place finisher Matt Martinez.
Josh Allred battled point’s leader Stephen Lee and John Callans to pick up his third hornet triumph of 2010 while Jerry Jones rallied around race leader Colton Huffman and third place finisher Paul Norris to pick up his second feature of the year.

USA Raceway is set for a Fathers Day celebration on June 19th when the stars of the Barnett Harley Davidson UMP West Modifieds return to action. The earth shattering excitement of 650 horse power Modifieds will be joined by the Unifirst Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Hornets and Dwarfs. General admission tickets will go on sale at 4pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 6:45pm.
Enjoy the races in luxury! Suite Access Passes which allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway’s VIP Suite will be available for $25.
There will be an opportunity for race fans to get a preview of the Father’s Day racers at an open practice slated for June 18th. The festivities will kick off at 6:00pm with grandstand admission free for all those who want a sneak preview
